UNIVERSE INFORMATION
This account features a gameverse NPC-version AU Ethan. The AU came about because of a conversation that I had with my friend. Basically, it's a universe where everybody goes to college instead of...whatever else they usually do, and a lot of them end up rolling around various frat housesand partying and sleeping with each other.
On campus, students are allowed a maximum of two pokemon, and they have to be within specified size and weight restrictions. While students and staff are allowed to have one pokemon out of their ball everywhere except in classroom buildings, libraries, and cafeterias, battling outside of the designated pokemon training dojo on campus can be grounds for heavy fines, suspension, or worse.
All the major characters from every region are on campus somehow, either as fellow students (the university has all major programs and a med school, as well as other master's/PhD programs), teachers, or other assorted staff. So Ethan's familiar with almost everyone, he's just not used to seeing them in their non-AU incarnations. This will not stop him from making friends with everyone, though!
Ethan comes from a peaceful universe, which means that the evil teams (Team Rocket, especially) don't exist. All important people from the evil teams are on campus in some capacity as well.
Notable members of his frat house include: Green and (eventually) Red, who are the president and vice-president of Ethan's frat; Silver, who isn't a brother and claims to hate frat houses, but tends to hang out on their couch and eat all their junk food anyway; and Lyra, who, as Ethan's childhood friend, practically lives there. (Ethan by himself is pretty terrible, but Ethan and Lyra together are like a hurricane of bad ideas.) Everyone knows Lyra and Kris have some sort of thing going on, but nobody mentions it, and nobody knows how serious it is.
CHARACTER AU INFORMATION
Ethan in particular is an 18-year-old freshman in his second semester at Kanto State University (Saffron City campus; "KSU Saffron" for short). After living a fairly sheltered life with his grandparents, helping them with the family day care business, college has been an...eye-opening experience. A business major, Ethan spends most of his time either partying (or engaged in various other types of socializing) or sleeping. Nobody is quite sure if he even goes to classes, but he seems to be in no danger of being kicked out, either.
He has two pokemon on campus with him at all times, a marill and a furret, which have both been with him from a very young age. Since he's used to growing up surrounded by piles of pokemon, he goes out of his way to befriend everyone else's pokemon too, and hangs out with them almost as much as he does their trainers.

PERSONALITY
I sum up NPC Ethan by saying "he usually ends up duct taped to things." The life of any party, he seems to be fueled by terrible ideas, boundless youthful optimism, and enough charisma to get everyone else involved. He's inordinately talented at getting into trouble, and while not always as good at getting out of it, he never seems to incur any lasting damage from his bad decisions, either.
Ethan is cheerful with a capital C, a social butterfly, honest to a fault, doesn't have a malicious bone in his body, and also doesn't have much in the way of a filter. He's not shy at all and calls 'em exactly as he sees 'em. Surprisingly, he doesn't offer a lot of information about himself (mostly it doesn't occur to him to do so), and if you tell him to keep something a secret, he will. He's still pretty naive (or maybe just preternaturally dense), despite his crazy habits, and tends to love everybody and everything. Especially pokemon! He loves pokemon, and more often than not, they'll be the ones who help him get out of sticky situations.
He's the go-to person at his frat for everything "fun" (read: illegal) on campus, from fake IDs to alcohol to phone numbers. With that said, he does have a vague (if skewed) sense of right and wrong: he won't lie or steal, for example. He also staunchly defends his friends, and tries to take care of them as much as he canwhile also trolling the hell out of them, usually by accident. He's actually pretty trustworthy, despite his propensity for bad behavior! I don't know if I'd call him reliable, but when you really need him, he'll pull through.
There's also a rumor going around that he's slept with a staggering amount of the campus, including most of his teachers, although nobody has quite the courage to ask him. I don't think anybody actually wants to know.

Everything I know about frat houses I've learned from fanfiction, which means that I may get things wrong. Since he's not actually in his universe during RPing, I doubt I'll run into trouble. Still, if you notice that I've gotten something wrong, please kindly tell me about it!

Marbles was his first pokemon, a gift from his grandparents when he was six years old. Marbles is his rough-and-tumble partner in crime, and thinks that everything that Ethan does is Absolutely Awesome. He has a terrible sense of direction. | Named after the sweet berries she likes best, she's very calm and mothers Ethan a lot. He caught her as a sentret with his grandparents' help when he was young. While quietly going along with Ethan's decisions, she's also the one who fishes out Ethan's pokegear and calls someone for help when he gets into too much trouble. |
